Road Cutting Permission Request
1. Introduction
This permission is obtained when a resident within the Balangoda Pradeshiya Sabha jurisdiction needs to cut a road for the purpose of obtaining a drinking water connection or any other type of service or connection. In instances where a service provider is required to cut a road belonging to the local authority to provide or obtain such connection through underground work, it is essential to cover the cost of restoring the road to its original condition. Depending on the circumstances, this amount must be paid to the Sabha by the service provider or the service recipient.
2. Legal Authority
(a) Section 21 of Part III of the Pradeshiya Sabha Act No. 15 of 1987.
3. Eligibility
(a) The service provider or service recipient shall be eligible to make this request in cases where a road belonging to the local authority needs to be cut for the purpose of providing or obtaining a service connection.
(b) This facility applies only to roads belonging to the local authority.
4. Fee
A fee and a security deposit determined from time to time by the Sabha based on the construction materials of the road must be paid.
Note: When restoring the road after cutting, the cost per cubic foot shall be determined based on a recommendation made by the Technical Officer, considering the type of road construction material (tar, concrete, interlocking stones, asphalt concrete - carpet - or other).
