Issuance of Street Line & Non-Encroachment Certificate

1. Eligibility:

  1. The land, property, or building must be situated within the Pradeshiya Sabha jurisdiction.
  2. Income tax must have been paid without any arrears.
  3. If the land or property is in the Assessment Tax area, it must be registered in the Assessment Tax register.

2. Required Documents

  • Completed application form (no fee charged for the form)
  • Original deed of the land and a copy thereof
  • Original survey plan and a copy thereof
  • If the original deed is held at a bank branch, a certified copy of the deed by the bank

3. Fee

Street Line & Non-Encroachment Certificate issuance fee = Rs. 1,000.00

4. Special Conditions

For property transfers (sale deeds / gift deeds / exchange deeds) submitted to local authorities for service requirements / legal requirements, if the deed has been executed and certified on or after 2020.01.01, the relevant requirement can only be fulfilled if a certificate from the Provincial Revenue Department is affixed to the deed confirming that stamp duty has been paid on the correct value, or that the deficit stamp duty required to complete the correct value has been paid.
